How to Get a Lightning Bolt in Blox Fruits (Electric)

The Electric fighting style costs a Lightning Bolt and $500,000. The bolt does not drop from a boss or a quest mob - it comes out of a dark cloud around the Skylands. Here is how to find one and get the bolt out of it.

1. Take the Mad Scientist's quest

Talk to the Mad Scientist in the First Sea and choose "I'll get you one". He tells you exactly where to look:

That is the whole trick: the bolt is inside a dark cloud, and you get it by breaking that cloud.

2. Find a dark cloud

Fly up to the clouds around the Skylands. Most of them are plain white. Every few seconds one of them turns dark grey-blue and starts to rumble - that low rumble sound is the easiest way to tell which one it is. That is the charged cloud you want.

Dark clouds can show up in any layer of the cloud field: the high clouds level with the Skylands, the middle layer, and even the low clouds just above the sea. Do not fly to a random low cloud hoping it is the one - wait for the rumble, then go to that cloud.

3. Hit it until it is gone

Fly right inside the dark cloud, take out your fighting style or sword and hit it with normal attacks (M1). When it breaks, the Lightning Bolt goes straight into your inventory. A small dark cloud breaks in a handful of hits - we broke one in four and got the bolt.

Some big clouds soak up dozens of hits and do not break. If one is still standing after about 40 hits, leave it and go to the next dark cloud - there is always another one soon.

4. Bring the bolt to the Mad Scientist

Go back to him with the bolt in your inventory and pay $500,000 - the Electric fighting style is yours, with its three special skills. If you already know Electric, he still takes a bolt and lets you keep your money.

Bonus: the Skylands door is blocked by clouds

The door from the Lower Skylands up to the Upper Skylands only works when the clouds sitting on it are broken. If you stand on the pad and nothing happens, look around it: a few clouds sit right on top of the door. Hit each of them until it breaks (they go down in a few hits), then step on the pad again and it takes you up. The clouds grow back after a while, so you may have to do it again next time.
